Major Purpose

 

Reporting to the Manager, Research & Analytics, the Digital Media Analyst plays a significant role in preparing media analysis reports, including gathering requirements, conceptualizing, implementing, and delivering the final product. The Analyst’s tasks include: monitoring media from various sources (i.e. print, online, broadcast, social media, etc.) using proprietary software; judging the relevance of the content in the context of client business and directives; being able to connect the social and traditional metrics to overall company goals. 

 

The successful candidate must be flexible, with an aptitude for quantitative and qualitative analysis, strong writing and editing skills, and in-depth knowledge of web analytics, social media platforms and analytics and media measurement. We are looking for someone with a strong eye for detail, strong organizational and time management abilities, and a passion for news and social media. This full-time, office-based position would be ideal for a well-rounded and experienced candidate who enjoys using words and visuals to tell the story behind the numbers.

   

Key Responsibilities

  

  • Develop proficiency on Agility’s proprietary platforms and various subscription services to monitor and analyze relevant media coverage across all media types, i.e. print, online, broadcast, blogs, and social media (including Twitter, Facebook, Instagram etc.).
  • Assist in the preparation of client reports and dashboards in an appropriate, professional format based on the specific client’s needs. Reports may be presented in PowerPoint, Word, Excel or other formats (e.g. Tableau, Power BI, proprietary platforms).
  • Apply quality assurance to ensure data accuracy and integrity at all stages.
  • Use other third-party software and services, such as Google Analytics, to enrich our reporting.
  • Engage with clients to gather requirements, respond to questions, and ensure satisfaction.

Requirements

 

Your application should specify your qualifications in response to the skill requirements:

 

  • Completed post secondary degree or diploma in journalism, communication, digital marketing, market research, or social media analytics.
  • A minimum of three years analysis experience in a related role, such as market research, digital marketing, social media management, or media monitoring.
  • Direct experience in web analytics, social media or digital marketing strategies and measurement.
  • Advanced level user in Excel, including pivot tables, charts, v-lookups, and dashboard creation.
  • Able to work under pressure when working with tight deadlines and managing multiple competing priorities. Strong organization and time management skills are crucial.
  • Experience with analysis platforms like Google Analytics, Tableau, PowerBI, SPSS, and social media platform analytics.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, including the ability to clearly and concisely express complex work and ideas in everyday language.
  • Experience using a variety of data visualization tools. An aptitude for creative data visualization is a strong asset.
  • Reliable, responsible, and capable of working collaboratively in a team environment.
